Pyramid

Below you can see pictures of both the altitude and the slant height of a pyramid. The length of the altitude is the pyramid's height.

The Pyramid on the left is a regular pyramid.

Properties of a Regular Pyramid:

• The altitude is perpendicular to the center of the base. (The center of the base is the point that is equidistant from all vertices of the polygon).
• The base is a regular polygon
  • below the regular polygon has a square base, but the base could be any regular polygon.
