Absolute value means 'the magnitude or distance of a number from 0"
Absolute value is denoted with ||'s as follows for the absolute value of 3 |3|
Examples
|3| = 3
|-3| = 3
Since 3 and -3 are both 3 units from 0, they have the same absolute value which is simply a measure of how far a given number is from 0. For this reason, taking the absolute value of a number always provides a positive number.
